Aim of this special issue:

Geospatial information acquisition, integration, analysis, and modeling are advanced by combining GIS, remote sensing, and geospatial statistics. Geospatial information science has been broadly applied to aquatic and terrestrial landscapes for ecosystem inventory, management, analysis, and modeling in order to explore and understand sustainable development in the environment and ecosystem processes.

The proposed papers should preferably focus on one of the topics below:

  1. Advanced geographic information science and systems for environmental assessment
  2. Advanced remote sensing and digital image processing for monitoring and analysis of landscapes and ecosystems.
  3. Ecological classification using advanced GIS and remote sensing
  4. Geospatial analysis of natural resources
  5. GIS and landscape ecological analysis
  6. Global and local modeling of landscapes/ecosystems
  7. Landscape pattern, progress, and scale analysis using advanced GIS and remote sensing
  8. Remote sensing for ecosystem management and modeling
  9. Spatiotemporal landscape/ecosystem analysis and modeling

10.  Open source geospatial technology and landscape/ecosystem management and modeling

11.  Spatial and spatiotemporal data mining, integration, and database management

12.  Artificial intelligence/machine learning in geospatial information sciences

Papers will be accepted on the basis of a double-blind peer review. The Article Process Fee (APF) for publication in this journal is:

  • 75 USD for HINARI Countries
  • 150 USD for Asia & Africa
  • 400 USD for North America, Latin America, Europe, Australia & New Zealand.

*2016 Journal Impact Factor was established by dividing the number of articles published in 2014 and 2015 with the number of times they are cited in 2016 based on Google Scholar, Google Search and the Microsoft Academic Search. If ‘A’ is the total number of articles published in 2014 and 2015, and ‘B’ is the number of times these articles were cited in indexed publications during 2016 then, journal impact factor = A/B.
