4. | Description | Abstract | Three standardized peel test variations; unrestrained, 90o restrained and 180o restrained, for testing the integrity of edge sealed flexible pouches are compared in this article. A total of 30 samples of identically sealed pouches were tested for each method using standards set forth in ASTM F88/F88M-09. The three methods yielded consistent differences ranging from 40% between the 90o restrained and unrestrained methods to 190% between the 90o restrained and 180o unrestrained methods. |
